Leaders Vs. Leadership

David Ben-Gurion, Golda Meir, Menachem Begin and Ariel Sharon became Zionists from early childhood. They fervently believed in the natural right of the Jewish people to their homeland and saw Zionism as the Jewish national liberation movement, an ideology they dedicated all their lives to. From early childhood, they felt they were destined to play leading roles in this movement. Ben-Gurion and Golda Meir sought to unite Zionism with Socialist ideas, whilst Begin adopted the more nationalistic-maximalist interpretation of Zionism. All four lived to play historic roles in the implementation of their dream and the creation of a strong, prosperous, flourishing Israel.

During the course (4 lectures), we will get a glimpse into the history of the State of Israel and the Zionist movement through the important decisions (personal and national) of those great leaders, according to Prof. Meron Medzini who worked closely with them. Through their decisions, we will learn about their biographical story, the way of thinking of each leader, the State of Israel, and the Zionist project.
